Job Summary:
The Associate Director:
- Leads and manages the operations and staff for Chesapeake Energy Business Student Success Center advising team.
- Ensures and facilitates quality advising experiences that support student success, retention, and graduation.
- Manages day to day operations for Chesapeake Energy Business Student Success Center advising team.
- Assists with and develop strategic advising initiatives that ensure student success, retention, and graduation.
- Assists Assistant Dean in administration of the Chesapeake Energy Business Student Success Center, including strategic planning, staffing and other responsibilities.
- Represents Spears Business and the department on committees, task forces, etc. and on behalf of the Assistant Dean as needed.
- Assists with recruitment, retention, and engagement initiatives and planning of initiatives.
- Serves as academic advisor for Spears School of Business undergraduate students. Provides quality academic advising related to the exploration of personal, academic, and professional goals.
- Other duties as assigned by Assistant Dean, Associate Dean, or Dean.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Position Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree and five years of experience directly related to academic advising. Associated administrative leadership, supervisory, management and program planning experience required. Candidate should have demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and the general public.
Should possess excellent organizational and human relations skills. Must be able to communicate effectively to constituents that are internal and external to OSU. Must have the ability to deal with people who are under stress; tact and diplomacy are necessary attributes. Must be able to quickly analyze individual situations in light of various University and State Regents policies, provide clarification and justification to students and other campus personnel. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in a business-related field of study.
