Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION
Plan and direct the daily project activities involved with multiple School of Medicine Informatics and Greater Plains Collaborative grants and projects, including identification, establishment, and implementation of effective project planning and oversight management.
Serve as the key project manager in research, informatics and grant development activities.
Identify necessary resources for project completion.
Serve as the project liaison for interactions with campus and external contacts in project related activities.
Maintain efficient and effective project tracking and management in projects from both a research (clinical and translational science systems) and an informatics/software development perspective (agile development, version control, issue/milestone tracking eg. Github).
Oversee the necessary submission requirements of IRB activities to support projects.
Plan and direct conferences and learning engagements to support the needs of the Greater Plains Collaborative and other School of Medicine related activities.
Direct multiple projects under the direction of the Director of Research Activities and other faculty as assigned by the Vice Chair of Informatics.
Develop and oversee preparation of necessary reports and documentation to supporting agencies and clientele.
Acquire and analyze data from various sources specifically tailored to meet decision support and project needs.
Facilitate investigators needs to write grant and/or contract proposals and applications for agencies and organizations.
Support the Vice Chair of Informatics, Department of Health Management and Informatics and Associate Dean for Informatics mission for the University of Missouri - Columbia and University of Missouri – Kansas City with informatics needs and the Precision Health Initiative.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Background in the effective management of research, grant or software development/informatics related projects. For example, prior experience managing agile development teams using GitHub, Jira, TRAC are valued as well as health system software development and implementation.
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a business, health sciences, or technology-related discipline.
Project management training/certification.
