Description:

At AstraZeneca, sustainability is at the core of our operations. We are committed to delivering life-changing medicines and transforming the future of healthcare.
We are looking for an Associate Director, Sustainability Data and Analytics, to lead a team of experts in ensuring that our data is consistent, robust, and meets external regulatory requirements and internal needs. This role is critical in meeting evolving regulatory reporting requirements, providing transparency to management on our sustainability performance, and sharing insights with subject matter experts across the business.
AstraZeneca is committed to delivering our sustainability strategy across our three sustainability pillars: access to healthcare, environmental protection and ethics and transparency.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

As the Associate Director, Sustainability Data and Analytics, you will lead the design and execution of the Sustainability data strategy for Global Sustainability, and SHE. You will ensure timely annual and quarterly data reporting to meet external regulations and stakeholder expectations. You will also develop a data and analytics culture, mentoring colleagues and educating senior leaders to embrace more agile ways of working, based on trustworthy data and insights.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in finance, sciences, or sustainability.
  • Significant experience in data and analytics, data reporting and forecasting.
  • Expertise overseeing the implementation and use of data reporting systems and analytics.
  • Experience leading global multidisciplinary teams.
  • Consistent track record of developing and implementing appropriate controls and other relevant data quality measures.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, creating strong relationship across the business for an effective data strategy implementation.
  • Development and implementation of appropriate data documentation and controls.

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Working knowledge with sustainability data and the latest developments in sustainability reporting.
  • Generalist environmental sustainability data expertise.
  • Provide capability building and /or training on data sustainability reporting, analytics, and related quality standards.
  • Experience driving cultural change within an organisation.
  • Good understanding of data science, data engineering and modelling and simulation.
  • Excellent business partnership and strategic agility to solve complex challenges.
When we put unexpected teams in the same room, we unleash bold thinking with the power to inspire life-changing medicines. In-person working gives us the platform we need to connect, work at pace and challenge perceptions. That’s why we work, on average, a minimum of three days per week from the office. But that doesn’t mean we’re not flexible. We balance the expectation of being in the office while respecting individual flexibility. Join us in our unique and ambitious world.
