About this role
Business Unit Overview:
The Global Infrastructure Fund Investment team is seeking a fluent Korean speaker to join as an Associate within its global team based in the Singapore office. This position will play a key role in driving the execution and oversight of direct equity investments in infrastructure projects and companies, with a broad scope including the energy, digital and transport infrastructure sectors. The team in Singapore covers existing and potential investments across Asia Pacific region. The associate will also spend time in the US and Europe to participate in firm-wide activities.
BlackRock is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious individual interested in working in a fast-paced, international environment as a member of a closely knit team in the alternative investment industry. The candidate assumes a multi-faceted role which requires a passion for the infrastructure sector, energy or broader infrastructure experience, an entrepreneurial spirit, strong analytical and conceptual skills and flexibility.
This role offers the opportunity to join a growing organization which is embedded within the information flow, systems and processes of the world’s largest asset manager, to gain exposure to the most dynamic sectors of the infrastructure market, and be part of the next growth phase the team is about to embark on.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Investments: driving the financial modelling, analysis, due diligence, structuring, negotiation and closing of direct investment opportunities in the global energy infrastructure sector.
Portfolio Management: ongoing management of completed investments and, in due course, exit processes

Knowledge/Experience:
- Three to five years of experience in a professional environment with strong exposure to the energy, utilities, digital or transport infrastructure sector, ideally partially obtained in a buy-side environment in the infrastructure sector.
- Candidates could also be considered with robust backgrounds in relevant industry teams in investment banking / M&A environments.
- Strong financial modelling, analytical, teamworking and communication skills required.
- Candidates are expected to have an excellent academic background and highly rated in their careers to date.

- Commercial, analytical and conceptual skills with attention to detail
- Risk assessment and mitigation capabilities.
- Project management and organization skills
- Persuasive and polished written and oral communication skills capable of dealing with complex, multicultural teams with internal and external members.
- Ability to effectively distil complex concepts into clear and simple themes
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates entrepreneurial spirit and willing to assume additional responsibilities
- Fluent Korean language skills
