Associate - Dividends & Corporate Actions Processing– Investment Bank
This is a French international banking group and the world’s largest cooperative financial institution.

They are near-shoring from their New York office and moving their operations to Montreal which is exciting news! This a chance to join a very stable environment as these roles already existed in New York before the move. They have a number of positions to fill and are hoping many will be excited to be a part of their new start in Montreal.

Requirements

  • Daily notification to trading groups & our clients of upcoming cash & stock dividends, and corporate actions information. Communication is transmitted via e-mail & through the XSP announcement application.
  • Processing of executed stock & cash movements related to dividends & corporate actions. processing is done through the FIS Phase3 accounting system.
  • Daily transmittal of our intentions through DTCC; tasks within DTCC include knowledge of DTCC CA Web, CLAIMSCONNECT, EDS, SDAR, Liability notices (180 Letter) and DTCC portal functionality.
  • Ongoing communication with Trading Desks & our clients on updates during the lifecycle of an active voluntary reorganization, including stock splits, name changes, tender offers, etc.
  • Daily reporting & communication of international stock & cash dividends. Liase with local market agents overseas (Euroclear & Clearstream) >Must be aware of tax treaties on foreign dividends and local market processing.
  • Must be familiar with dividend processing related to securities lending & ADR/ORD conversions
  • Back up to other team members; setup and maintenance of security master setup responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Must have prior knowledge (minimum 5 years) related to the processing of cash & stock dividends and corporate actions events.
  • Must be well aware of time restrictions related to responses on events and DTCC timelines.
  • A self-starter who is highly motivated.
  • Good analytical, organizational and interpersonal skill
  • Adaptable & flexible
  • Must be a self starter, with excellent problem solving skills & be able to work under pressure.
  • Must be willing to work with and articulate-dealing with trading personnel & salepeople daily.
  • Mastery of Excel & Power Point. Knowledge of DTCC and Sungard FIS Phase3 system preferred; DTCC, FEDWIRE; Euroclear & Clearstream.
