JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid NYS Childhood Education Certification
  • Minimum of five years experience providing leadership to early childhood programming
  • Have a working knowledge of Early childhood components: Prekindergarten Learning Standards, Early Learning Guidelines, Core Body of Knowledge, Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD, ECERS and CLASS, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Support in the administration and operation of all program components, focusing on the areas of Curriculum and Instruction, Assessment, Parent Engagement and Professional Development
  • Know the Creative Curriculum framework/Teaching Strategies GOLD Assessment experience providing professional development and facilitation to staff, as well as continuous follow-up with instructional strategies and lesson planning support.
  • Implement orientation procedures, staff development, ongoing technical assistance, and training or updating procedures necessary for the operation of prekindergarten programs.
  • Be responsible for utilizing the internal payroll system (Paylocity) to monitor and approve time and attendance for all assigned employees for bi-weekly payroll.
  • Be responsible for the continuous monitoring and implementation of staff schedules based on the current needs of the program and implementing changes to operate in a fiscally responsible manner.
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings to disseminate information and program updates.
  • Be responsible for being the program hiring manager including the review of applications, scheduling and conducting interviews for vacant positions.
  • Promote positive morale, facilitate continuous learning, promote staff retention, and reinforce positive partnerships.

  • Travel Required (50%)
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director of PreK Program
