Under the direction of the Program Manager II, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) will perform the most complex analytical tasks relating to the provision of federal and state disaster assistance grant programs within the Cal OES Public Assistance Section of the Recovery Branch, Statewide Operations Division. Required to work under strict regulatory and administrative deadlines and act with independence to maintain a routine workload and respond to short-term special projects, reports and priority assignments. In addition, shall be responsible for formulating procedures, policies, and program alternatives, making recommendations on program related issues, and advising management on potential impacts. May also serve in a lead capacity over Staff Services Analysts and program support staff. May be required to travel on short notice, work in a Joint Field Office, and work overtime as necessary to administer the federal and state Public Assistance grants.
This position is located in the Public Assistance Support Unit.
Training and Development (T&D) assignments are temporary assignments to provide an employee training and experience to move to a different occupational field. A T&D assignment is a formal agreement between the employee, the current supervisor, and the new supervisor. The duration of agreements can vary in length but shall not exceed twenty-four (24) months.
The duration may also be the length of experience needed to meet the minimum qualifications. Please note they are only available to current California State employees who have permanent status.

Working Conditions
Telework Opportunity - This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule which includes up to two days of remote work per week. Additional in office days may be required based on the business need.
DMV Pull Program - Participation in the DMV Pull Program is required. The position(s) require(s) a valid Driver’s License (DL). You must answer the questions addressing your DL on your application. Ensure you provide your DL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.
