Job Description and Duties
Are you interested in becoming a member of a supportive and dedicated team leading implementation of Universal PreKindergarten (UPK) in California so that all California’s preschoolers have a strong early education foundation, which supports the child and school and lifelong success?
The Early Education Division (EED) at the California Department of Education (CDE) is looking for a knowledgeable, inclusive, innovative, hardworking, collaborative, analytical, organized, independent, and committed professional to join the newly formed Guidance and Regulations Office (GRO). Responsibilities include providing analytical services in support of the development of guidance and regulations for the California State Preschool Program and Transitional Kindergarten.
The EED supports the State’s early education system by advancing equitable opportunities that optimize thriving children, families, and communities through the implementation of universal prekindergarten. By supporting early education programs and teachers through research and evidence-based training, resources, and guidance, the EED helps ensure all of California’s children have access to high-quality services and education and have a strong early learning and care foundation for school and lifelong success.
