Description:

Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I) of the Administration Unit, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) independently performs a full range of the most complex technical administrative and analytical duties to support the Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) in the areas of procurement, contracting, financial management, grant management, and business services, by the principles, policies, and guidelines of the EMSA, the State Controller’s Office (SCO), the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR), the Department of General Services (DGS), and the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal).

Department Information
The California Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) oversees emergency and disaster medical services in the state of California. EMSA functions as one of thirteen departments and five offices within California’s Health and Human Services Agency (CalHHS). EMSA is charged with providing leadership in the innovation and administration of the emergency medical services (EMS) system throughout the state, which includes setting standards for the training and scope of practice for various levels of EMS personnel. EMSA is also responsible for promoting disaster medical preparedness throughout the state, and when required, coordinating, and supporting the State of California’s medical response to major disasters.
