To review the detentions of patients subject to the Mental Health Act 1983 in Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust. To read and listen to evidence from patients, carers and professionals and maintain absolute confidentiality with regard to information gleaned during this process. To make judgements based upon written and oral evidence and convey these judgements appropriately to service users and/or carers. To be part of a panel of 3 Associate Hospital Managers to review detentions following renewal or following appeal from patient.
To read reports and listen to information from professionals involved with patient’s care. To ensure that the requirements of the Mental Health Act 1983 are carried out in accordance with the Act and Code of Practice throughout the Trust
