Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

At The Majurity Trust (TMT), we strive to bridge the gaps in our community that need attention. We believe in tackling the less-talked-about and often thornier issues by collaborating with our donors and partners. We value the power of the collective. We are constantly engaging with people who are driven to make a real difference in the social sector. This means being open and being willing to look at issues differently. We are looking to hire an Associate in the Insights and Strategy team. The recently rebranded Insights and Strategy team plays a pivotal role in shaping our mission-driven initiatives and ensuring the most effective allocation of resources. By leveraging a combination of quantitative and qualitative research and evaluation methodologies, we provide a deep understanding of societal challenges, emerging trends, and the impact of our philanthropic efforts and translate these insights into strategic recommendations, guiding our grantee partners and donors in making informed choices that maximise positive outcomes. For a better sense of our work, you can take a look at our past reports at https://www.majurity.sg/publications/

JOB DESCRIPTION

You will be instrumental in ensuring that TMT estimates, describes and communicates the impact of its funds and grantee partners accurately. To do well in this role, you should be organised and detail-oriented, with a high standard of integrity. You should be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and comfortable both working independently as well as with a team. This role reports to the Manager, Insights and Strategy.
The key responsibilities of the Associate in the Insights and Strategy Team include:

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY SKILLS

The following key skills will help a candidate succeed in this role:

  • Technical Skills: Excellent command of Office suite tools (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, etc). Familiarity with other research tools (e.g., R, Stata, ATLAS.ti, NVivo) is a bonus.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to collate and analyse relevant data to draw meaningful insights, especially with small datasets.
  • Natural Curiosity: Ability to ask the right questions to draw out insights and explore creative ways to make sense of and/or collect meaningful data
  • Strong Communicator: Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both spoken and written English.
  • Empathy: Show understanding for the grantee partners and community members.
  • Self-starter: Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
  • People Skills: A good read on people and organisations, especially in the social sector will be an added advantage.

This is an entry-level position, and we are open to considering candidates from diverse backgrounds. We recognize that academic performance and experience alone do not define a person’s ability to succeed. What matters most is having the right underlying character and attitudes. Approximately 1 - 3 years of experience in social sector research would be a bonus but is not required. If you are interested and believe you have what it takes to excel in this position, we would like to hear from you too! Tell us why you feel you have what it takes to thrive in this role! Email us at: admin@majurity.sg
[Please indicate Associate, Insights and Strategy in the email subject line and include a cover letter, CV, and a writing or research sample in your application.
