ABOUT THE SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

The School of Education at Curtin University has offered programs that embrace innovation in learning technologies, theory and practice since 1975, with the aim of preparing highly skilled and informed graduates who can teach and work in a fast-changing world. Curtin’s partnerships with schools and education providers in all sectors reflect our desire to work collaboratively to develop highly sought-after graduates. The School is a unique and attractive place to undertake teaching and research as our degrees are taught into all states and territories in Australia, meaning our reach and networks are broad. Additionally, we have strong ties with state and federal levels of government, and benefit from being in proximity to the Western Australia Department of Education, which has its headquarters in Perth.
The school has undergone many changes and commenced several exciting initiatives over the last few years and boasts multiple ARC Discovery and ARC Linkage grant winners. Our academics are contributing important research related to many aspects of education, publishing consistently at a high level and seeing their work informing practice in schools across Australia. The school also houses the WA node of the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for the Digital Child, a high-profile ARC project collaboration that includes academics from Curtin’s Schools of Education, Allied Health, and Media, Creative Arts and Social Inquiry.
