Description:

9 Story Media Group is seeking an Associate Manager, Digital for our Toronto studio. Working in our dynamic and creative business environment, the Associate Manager, Digital executes content programming plans across 9 Story Media Group’s YouTube channel portfolio. The position will be responsible for editing and posting content, as well as supporting other programming initiatives.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Key Requirements:
Must be creative and have a strong editorial voice and copywriting skills.
Knowledge of YouTube CMS platform, including YouTube Studio and technical management.
Strong knowledge of content optimization and best practices.
Ability to navigate the Tubular system and/or analytics dashboards is desirable.
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Media Encoder.
Proficiency in After Effects and/or motion graphics design an asset.
Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and basic thumbnail creation is desirable.
Detail-oriented and ability to work on tight deadlines.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to pivot quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work well within a team environment.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.-

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

Program 10-15 channels on a weekly basis, including:

  • Working with Director, Digital Distribution to develop and refine programming strategy
  • Editing and uploading clips and compilations.
  • Programming YouTube Shorts and live streams.
  • Channel optimization, including thumbnail and metadata creation, playlist assembly, and section continuity.

Managing hub channel programming, including calendar and channel optimization, with potential to oversee additional hub channel managers and editors.
Tracking analytics on CMS, brand and channel level and sharing data and insights as requested.
Checking YouTube rights to evaluate language and dub availability for channel expansion on a quarterly basis.
Coordinating setup and maintenance of live streams with digital team and tracking performance regularly.
Improving programming efficiency across all brands. This includes accessing available dubs and setting up video files with multi-language audio tracks (if applicable) for ease of editing across localized channels. Working with Director, Digital Distribution to create and submit content for YouTube Kids Monthly Moments and Takeovers.
Supporting Director, Digital Distribution in execution of Special Content Deals, Guest Pick Playlists and other programming initiatives offered by YouTube.
Liaising with Distribution Operations team to access new video files for YouTube as they become available in house.

CMS Technical Management:

  • Content ID & manual claiming.
  • Uploading reference files, including pack creation and exclusions where ownership does not exist.
