JOB DESCRIPTION & SUMMARY
PwC Indonesia’s Energy Transition Advisory team works as a community of solvers to help clients unlock the environmental, social and environmental impact of Indonesia’s energy transition. Our practice is working on several complex problems in Indonesia’s energy transition, across the public and private sector. We draw on our global network for expertise as required and localise it through our Indonesian experts to address country nuances to solve Indonesia’s challenges in planning and implementing the energy transition. We seek to do this in a way that maximises positive environmental and social impact, while driving value creation for our clients and the economy as a whole.

A sample of the kind of problems you’ll be solving:
- Designing a policy reform basket for the Indonesian power sector to accelerate the development of renewable energy generation and ensuring a just transition
- Assessing investment requirements, financing capacity of utility balance sheet, fiscal impact on GoI APBN of JETP transition pathway under BAU and policy reforms (energy pricing, efficient procurement) scenarios
- Assessing commercial and financial viability of transitioning captive power fleet to gas/renewable energy including applicability of transition credits and impact of PTBAE-PU
- Economic (GDP, green jobs, tax) and trade (carbon walls) impact of transitioning captive fleet to gas/renewable energy
- Accounting, financial and fiscal impacts of accelerated retirement of coal fired power plants
- Feasibility assessment of green hydrogen pilot and roadmap for scale up to address domestic and export demand
- EV and battery market size assessment
- EV battery recycling market size assessment and designing an incentive framework for industry development
