Description:

Major/Essential Functions
Serves as a lead financial advisor on all restricted funds, research grants and contracts.
Responsible for overseeing research grant and contract management, reconciliation, and resolution at department level for principal investigators and research support personnel.. Leads transition of research grant and contract management, reconciliation, and resolution at department level for principal investigators and research support personnel.
Advises and interprets research funding awards, oversees approvals and/or monitoring of accounting and procurement expenditures, ensuring compliance and consistency with regulatory and institutional practices, providing support with accounts payable/ receivable processes.
Establishes and reviews grant and contract files.
Develops queries and reports on the financial system; assists departments with financial, contract and grant reporting requirements.
Advises on account management at department level to ensure compliance with contract regulations and reporting requirements, and closing out contracts.
Assist in the preparation of the Annual Financial Report.
Responsible for month-end close activities of assigned area of responsibility.
Adhere to all TTUHSCEP policies, procedures and processes.
Personally demonstrate, display, and act in accordance with TTUHSCEP’s values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Actively promote and encourage staff across the institution.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field required plus six years administrative or management experience.
Additional education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of regulatory requirements regarding post-award administration, familiarity with NIH grant policies, procurement, accounts payable/receivable, and general business practices.
Customer service experience with MD/PhD research population.
