Boeing Canada Operations Ltd. is seeking an Associate Manufacturing Engineer, reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, working out of the Winnipeg, Manitoba office.
The successful candidate will join the Production Engineering team where they will provide engineering support for manufacturing build processes in Composite Layup and/or Assembly.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of Engineering
  • Must be registered, or eligible to be registered, with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM) as an E.I.T (Engineer in Training) or P. Eng. (Professional Engineer)
  • Must have 2 years’ experience in a related engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Must be willing to work weekends or daily overtime and holidays as required to support production.
  • Must be available to work evening or night shift on occasion.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
  • Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods
  • Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE):

  • Production Planning experience is considered an asset.
  • Composite/Aerospace manufacturing knowledge is considered an asset.

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of Engineering and be registered or eligible to be registered with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM).
  • 3 years’ experience in a related engineering or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops manufacturing concepts and strategies to support business objectives.
  • Develops, implements and maintains various manufacturing plans, Bill of Materials, work instructions and illustrations to define and document as-built configuration.
  • Develops and implements production and tooling methodologies.
  • Performs productivity assessments for part or product designs.
  • Provides productivity input to design manufacturing processes and manufacturing technologies to meet cost and schedules.
  • Develops integrated work statements and sequencing of events to support delivery commitments.
  • Conducts productivity and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements.
  • Coordinates and implements new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts.
  • Validates and ensures production readiness of solutions to complex problems.
  • Investigates and resolves manufacturing related issues of significant impact to performance, cost or schedule.
  • Drafts, updates and reviews processes and procedures to support business and regulatory agency requirements.
