Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Associate Mechanic to join our Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) team. The selected candidate will assist in providing sustainment support services (operational engineering and logistics support) globally for some 25,000 military tactical and non-tactical vehicles.
Important Note: Selected candidates without an ACTIVE German/E.U. Work Visa will be required to work the first 90 days in a Temporary role while obtaining their Visa. Once an E.U. Work Visa is approved, then you will be offered a Full-Time German Contract. If accepted, then you will be subjected to paying German taxes, obtaining German Healthcare, and working within the guidelines of the German labor system.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must obtain or already have an active Germany/E.U. Work VISA to be considered.
  • 2+ years of maintenance experience. Areas of experience shall be with one of more of the following: non-tactical or tactical military vehicles, light or heavy-duty trucks, tractors, power generators, power plants, aircraft or any diesel or gasoline powered equipment or vehicle.
  • The selected candidate should understand general maintenance principles and theory of internal combustion engines.
  • Must have an understanding and experience in a variety of maintenance and routine repair work on engines, engine accessories, power transmission systems on automobiles, trucks, construction equipment.
  • Must have basic knowledge and understanding of testing, diagnostic and repair work. Performs other maintenance related duties as assigned.
  • Ability to meet the government deployment physical requirements, if needed
  • Ability to successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Possession of a valid European or German driver’s license is required (OR) the ability to obtain a valid driving license before beginning employment.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior training or maintenance experience on MRAP FOV systems preferable.
  • Preferably familiar or knowledgeable with MRAP/RCV systems.
  • Willingness to travel to hostile areas is desired.
  • Willingness to travel to various US or OCONUS locations.
  • Willingness to deploy to all/any of these locations, including Southwest Asia and South-Central Asia.
  • Some OCONUS deployments may be to hostile ("war zone") environments which earn larger bonuses.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a (DoD) Public Trust clearance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch and knee.
  • Must be able to push, pull, and reach.
  • Must be able to work in high noise areas.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and small parts.
  • Must be able to work with computers and CRTs, and type on a computer keyboard.

Responsibilities:

  • Repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, or tractors.
  • Work involves replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors; overhauling transmissions; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.
  • Performs other, related duties as assigned.
