Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

An exciting opportunity exists for enthusiastic Registered Nurse with a passion for GEM (Geriatric Evaluation and Management) to join the Unit 3 team at BHS (Northern Health) at Broadmeadows campus. This role requires experience in a hospital or GEM setting with knowledge in subacute nursing. Experience in either working in ANUM role previously or in an acting capacity is desirable.
Temporary full time, 80 hours fortnight to cover 6 months long service leave. Willing to work on rotating roster including night duty.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Experience and good working knowledge of acute/subacute nursing care
  • Proven ability to work within a team environment
  • A passion for patient centred care
  • A valid nursing AHPRA registration
  • Be reliable and punctual
  • Excellent communication skills with colleagues, patients and families from a diverse cultural community
  • Must be able to manage conflict and have excellent resolution skills.
  • Able to take direction
  • Flexible and Adaptable
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the principles of access management and effective patient flow.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example, modelling Northern Health values of ‘Safe, Kind and Together’
