We would welcome applicants considering a trainee band 4 post (annex 21 would apply - discussed at interview)
To undertake this training you will need to meet the following criteria: The minimum criteria to apply to the course (as per University of Brighton guidance. Please note that this course is also supported at East Sussex College and entry criteria may vary slightly):
Level 3 qualification (or above) eg Advanced Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care; a BTEC National Diploma (pass), or Certificate (merit), two A-levels (with maths and English GCSE grade C), an Open University Course in Health and Social Care related subjects such as SDK125, subject-related NVQ level 3 (including key skills English and maths level 2) with a Skills for Health: Bridging Skills for Higher Education course
Maths & English GCSE grade C/4+ or Functional skills level 2
Care Certificate – to be completed once in post N.B - this course is also supported at East Sussex College
Band 3s considering applying for this band 4 trainee role and meet the above criteria are encouraged to apply
If applicants have relevant and substantial work experience but without a recognised level three qualification, this will be considered on an individual basis
Please note that this is a 2 year course and Assistant Practitioners attend university one day a week during term time and will continue to have one day per week off-the-job learning out of term. Candidates must be employed a minimum 30 hrs per week

The AHP Support worker / Associate Practitioner requires competencies and skills within the relevant department
At this level there is a requirement for the post holder to have factual and theoretical knowledge of principals, procedures, processes, and concepts within the area of work.
The post holders work is guided by SOPs, protocols, or systems of work but they must make judgements, plan activities, contribute to service development and demonstrate self-development.
The post holder will provide practical training to less experienced staff including students.
