Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for a collaborative and creative team player who reflects the innovative spirit, creative talent, and passion for great storytelling and filmmaking that define Lucasfilm.
The Associate Production Manager, Post Production will play a key role in supporting the SVP, Post Production, the VP, Post Production, and the Sr. Manager, Post Production in all phases of Lucasfilm’s theatrical and series
streaming projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations when Post team leaders are off-site, traveling, or engaged in critical meetings/creative sessions
  • Assist the SVP, Post Production to set up scoring sessions worldwide, track music costs, manage Composer and team travel, and oversee remote tech setups during scoring sessions across concurrent projects and locations
  • Manage post schedules and strategies in collaboration with Post leadership
  • Provide organizational, creative and technical support for urgent show-based requests from Directors, Producers, Editorial, Marketing, and Asset teams internationally
  • Set up and guide above-the-line teams and department heads with media transfer tools such as Aspera, Atris, Debut and PIX
  • Establish new post production offices worldwide in conjunction with show-based Editorial and post management crews, including initial setup, ongoing oversight, and wrap
  • Initiate and manage security assessments with new crew members and facilities, in collaboration with Disney Content Security to uphold content protection protocols
  • Organize and run line-of-business screenings and ensure their success, managing Digital Cinema Package (DCP) requests and key acquisition via Disney Global Screening System
  • Under the supervision of Post leadership, liaise directly with Lucasfilm Business Affairs and Disney Music Legal departments to distribute and archive long-form deals and union start work
  • Assist the Sr. Manager, Post Production with quality control and supervision of show deliverables and directly liaise with Editorial teams and post service vendors worldwide
  • Work with Post leadership to improve Editorial and technology pipelines for all Lucasfilm productions – in support of efficient workflow between ILM, Skywalker Sound, Disney Studio, and external vendors
  • Provide supervision and guidance to junior Post team members, including but not limited to the following tasks –
  • Onboarding new Editorial crew and organize start paperwork, timecards and email account setup
  • Creating and maintaining post production schedules, tracking documents, and global Editorial crew databases
  • Booking domestic and international travel for LFL Post Production and Editorial groups worldwide
  • Preparing and tracking departmental expense reports, while closely adhering to company T&E policy
  • Independently research and compile databases for prospective global editorial crew, post management personnel, and composers, as requested by Directors and Producers
  • Liaise with Lucasfilm Asset Management and Disney Studio to fulfil footage requests for marketing and creative teams
  • Perform and complete special projects as assigned, while promoting and maintaining a strong sense of collaboration between various Lucasfilm departments
  • Collaborate closely with the Sr. Manager, Post Production on all aspects of digital and physical asset management, including the hand-off of wrapped show AVID projects to Lucasfilm Asset Management for archiving and/or use by other LFL divisions, such as Games, ILM, Localization, and Creative Content
