Description:

The Research Unit of OPEN , Department of Clinical Research , University of Southern Denmark (SDU) invites applications for a position as associate professor (20% time) in Wellbeing, Loss, and Grief to be filled from July 1, 2024 (or as soon as possible thereafter) to June 30, 2029.
The position is limited to 5 years with the possibility of extension .
The current research lines of the Research Unit of OPEN are active in a number of health research areas such as clinical research and nursing research including qualitative and quantitative research.

EXPECTATIONS OF QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor’s degree in nursing, PhD degree in Health Science and postdoctoral research experience
  • Research experience documented by international peer-reviewed journal articles within the fields of well-being, loss and grief and advanced care in families
  • Research experience with regards to different research methods
  • Acquired university pedagogy
  • Educational skills including planning/organizing education and supervising students
  • Actively apply for research funding for own research.
    It will be expected that the associate professor has and develops her/his own research area in collaboration with these research areas. Furthermore, the associate professor will be expected to carry out research within advanced nursing care target patients and families in the context of chronic and critical illness, as well as education.

Responsibilities:

  • Health research within the area of well-being, loss, and grief
  • Participation in interdisciplinary research tasks
  • Development and implementation of interventions
  • Collaboration with senior researchers
  • Teaching at master’s degree in clinical nursing
  • Supervision of master’s students, PhD students and postgraduate researchers
  • Supervision of staff and teachers
  • Academic assessment
  • Promoting national and international collaboration within the above research areas.
