Associate Professor / Senior Lecturer: International Law

Duties/Pligte

• Lecturing in the area of public international law at undergraduate (and possibly postgraduate) level, as well as other areas in the Department of Public Law;
• Supervising postgraduate students in the area of public international law;
• Contributing to the research outputs of the Department and Faculty;
• Contributing to the administrative functioning of the Department and Faculty;
• Performing such other duties as assigned by the Faculty.
• Voorgraadse (en moontlik nagraadse) onderrig in internasionale reg, asook ander areas in die Departement Publiekreg;
• Nagraadse studieleiding op die gebied van internasionale reg;
• Dra by tot die navorsinguitsette van die Departement en Fakulteit;
• Dra by tot die administratiewe funksionering van die Departement en Fakulteit;
• Uitvoering van ander take soos deur die Fakulteit toegewys.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes

• An LLD, or a PhD in public international law;
• An established record of publications in accredited law journals (for appointment as Associate Professor) or at least some publications in accredited law journals (for appointment as Senior Lecturer);
• Experience in postgraduate mentorship and supervision;
• Experience in undergraduate teaching.
• ’n LLD, of ’n PhD in internasionale reg;
• Bewese rekord van publikasies in geakkrediteerde regsjoernale (vir aanstelling op Medeprofessoraatvlak) of minstens sommige publikasies in geakkrediteerde regsjoernale (vir aanstelling op Senior Lektoraatvlak);
• Ervaring van nagraadse mentorskap en studieleiding;
• Ervaring van voorgraadse onderrig.

• Good interpersonal relationships;
• Experience in teaching public international law at undergraduate and / or postgraduate level;
• Legal practical experience;
• Multi-lingualism;
• NRF rating;
• Strong academic record.
