Position Information

JOB SUMMARY/BASIC FUNCTION

Managerial oversight and responsibility for all Registrar’s Office operations and functions; provides administrative support to Registrar’s Staff in completion of their duties, as well as to faculty, students and administrators in key areas such as transfer credit, degree clearance, continuing education, registration, summer school, and classroom design & scheduling; and serves as contributing participant on important college committees.

Essential Functions:

  • Monitor progress toward degree completion of all students. Respond to questions and meet with students regarding their progress. Monitor course offerings available for students in 7th and 8th semesters. Provide lists of potential graduates to faculty for vote and to others on campus who need this information. Provide backup support for maintaining degree requirements in Degree Works.
  • Manage transfer credit for incoming matriculated students, current students, and students seeking readmission. Review and approve credit for these students. Prepare Transfer Credit Evaluation for students and prepare reports.
  • Oversee continuing education applications/exchanges. Serve as campus coordinator for the Central Pennsylvania Consortium exchange program and the Britton Scholars Program. Meet with first-time continuing education students to determine eligibility and explain procedures and processes. Serve as advisor to all continuing education students. Oversee the creation of records and registration of these students.
  • Serve on relevant committees, such as, Learning Space Review Committee (coordinate), Orientation, Commencement Planning, New Student Planning, and Community College Partnership Initiative Committees. Provide guidance and training in the interpretation of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
  • Coordinate registration activities including appropriate technical set-up and correspondence. Manage the processing of Roll Call and final grading, including senior grades night procedures. Provide backup support for Student Information System semester functions.
  • Work with departments and Associate Provost for Curriculum on coordinating the schedule of classes each semester and summer school. Organize Third Party Testing for Foreign Language Requirement. Approve Independent Studies/Research, Student/Faculty Research, and Tutorials for summer.
  • Oversee changes in classrooms and classroom assignments. Work with appropriate offices through the Learning Space Review Committee to plan for, implement and keep up-to-date technology in instructional spaces and renovate space as needed to assist faculty with their teaching pedagogy.
  • Supervises work of others, including planning, assigning, and scheduling work, reviewing work, and ensuring quality standards, training staff and overseeing their productivity. May offer recommendations for hiring, termination and pay adjustments, but does not have responsibility for making these decisions.
