Description:

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Associate Scientist II, Bioanalytical is responsible for supporting various bioanalytical processes and ensuring the quality and integrity of experimental data. This role involves processing and organizing data, assisting in quality control, and training staff.

Additional tasks:

  • Experimental data processing for liquid scintillation counting and CHN technology including preparation of packets in preparation of quality control review.
  • Organize and collate all raw data from LCs, AMS, and related laboratory paperwork into the electronic study file in preparation of data processing.
  • Assist in quality control procedures for liquid scintillation and CHN data packets.
  • Training ASI staff to become proficient in their added essential functions.
  • Participate in day-to-day operation of the Laboratory, the analysis of samples and associated duties.
  • Responsible for handling and processing of biological samples including competent handling and pipetting technique.
  • Prepare/review data tables and reports within Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Ensure adequate levels of reference materials, control matrix, and project-specific consumables and resources are available to meet the objectives of the study.
  • Prepare/review forms and SOPs.
  • Assist in training personnel in the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment including but not limited to: Liquid Scintillation Counters, Sample Oxidizers and CHN Elemental Analyzers.
  • Responsible for performing fraction pooling, wheel aliquoting, and contamination surveys.
  • Responsible for general solution preparation.
  • Training Lab Technician staff on laboratory equipment and techniques including but not limited to general solution preparation, contamination surveys, operation and maintenance of Liquid Scintillation Counters, Sample Oxidizers and CHNs.
  • Compliance with the Laboratory Safety Policy.
  • Compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures unless specifically varied in the validation or sample analysis plan.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

We’re seeking individuals who have strong communication skills with attention to detail who thrive in fast-paced environments.

  • Bachelor of Science in a related field with at least 2 years of experience OR Master of Science in a related field with 0-1 years of experience.
  • Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) regulations (21 CFR part 11 and 58).
  • Understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) regulations and International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guidelines.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of chemistry, including the composition, structure, and properties of substances, and chemical processes and transformations.
  • Proficient in using scientific rules and methods to solve problems.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches.
  • Strong active listening skills, with the ability to understand points made by others, ask relevant questions, and avoid inappropriate interruptions.
