Description:

We are looking for an Associate Scientist to join our team in Glasgow. You will have a HNC in scientific discipline or BSc or MSc in biology, biotechnology, biochemistry or related discipline.
We are looking for an Associate Scientist for the Analytical Services department at Sartorius Stedim BioOutsource. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a range of activities to support client testing services across multiple departments in molecular services, virology, bioassay, biophysical chemistry.
The team consists of 47 professionals across 5 teams, and we are looking forward to shaping the future with you.
This position is available full time and onsite in Glasgow, at West Scotland Science Park.

Responsibilities:

  • You will perform laboratory work and execute a range of techniques and methods to a high standard
  • You will ensure laboratory work runs smoothly and that all necessary materials, reagents and cells are ordered to perform the work in a timely manner
  • You will carry out equipment calibration, prepare media and reagents, cell culture, stock control
  • You will be responsible for maintaining the laboratory and ensuring compliance at all times to GxP regulations
  • You will be involved in reviewing documentation including material specifications, SOPs, study protocols, technical documentation in order to prepare final reports, certificate of analysis and risk assessment under the supervision of a Scientist
  • You will be required to complete documentation to a defined standard ensuring traceability of samples, reagents and equipment throughout the work
  • In gaining further experience in the role overtime, you may be able to expand your skillset in learning new methods and techniques, be involved in internal and customer audits, training other operators and supporting Scientists
