Description:

EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology.
  • Minimum of 2 years software engineering experience in a development capacity preferably using a mainstream Object Orientated language such as Java C++ or similar
  • Working in an Agile development environment
  • Back-end programming languages and back-end development
  • REST APIs
  • Unit testing
  • Sound knowledge of and ability to apply standard software development principles, theories, concepts and techniques
  • Understands secure coding concepts
  • Understands source control management with Git
  • Teamwork, Business writing, Effective communication in multicultural teams, time management, problem solving

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:

As an Associate Software Developer you will join an existing team working on innovation projects. Reporting to the Manager, Software Development, you will be a part of the CTO organization and will gain experience in an interesting tech stack. You will have responsibility to collaborate on the refinement of product backlogs, along with estimation, design, and development of User Stories in order to deliver key business value. You will work with a multicultural team and could also have the opportunity to travel for internal workshops and/or customer meetings.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Writes and delivers code for specific components and makes code changes as needed for addressing defects
  • Follows coding guidelines and practices and all technical processes to ensure code is delivered at a high standard
  • Participate in the various Scrum ceremonies: backlog refinement; planning; daily stand up; sprint review and retrospective
  • Use analytical skills to analyze work items prior to refinement
  • Participate in pair programming sessions when required
