The team
This is the electric propulsion control team, which is part of the Volvo Group’s Electromobility organization. The electric propulsion control team develops the embedded software, incl. release and integration, constituting the link between the electric management system and the mechanical propulsion system. This means delivering design, implementation, verification, and quality assurance for state-of-the-art traction voltage and propulsion functions for electrical vehicles. The team consists of experienced Embedded Software engineers, Product and specialist Function Owners and takes a holistic approach to balance features versus hardware boundaries and other limitations.
The team is a communicative group of people and to describe them in three words it would be: social, helpful and technical!

The team has following responsibilities:

  • Specification and breakdown of requirements, in close cooperation with function development teams, as well as with verification teams and other system design teams.
  • Assure safety and reliability of our systems, through proactive methods including e.g. ISO26262 and FMEA, but also by following up quality issues.
  • Manage the communication network within the electric powertrain control system.
  • Establish and maintain system documentation.
  • Drive system design concept investigations.

The role

  • Interact with SW teams regarding SW requirements and verification of SW requirements.
  • Write SW requirements, with inputs from higher requirement levels and stakeholders.
  • Participate in test testing/evaluating and defining way of working with new SW requirement framework.
  • Assist in the process of updating signaling between ECU:s.
  • Scripting for automation of tasks (e.g. database operations, import and export of data, etc.)

Your profile
You are a person that takes own initiatives and uses your interest in technology to build your knowledge. To enjoy this role you thrive in building a network internally and have great communication skills. Furthermore you are delivery oriented and takes responsibility in your daily work.

We are also looking for you who has:

  • M.Sc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics or similar field
  • Planning to graduate summer 2024
  • Experience from Matlab/Simulink
  • Scripting languages, preferably Python

Bonus if you also have an understanding of:

  • System Safety/Functional Safety
  • System engineering knowledge/experience
  • Automotive system knowledge/experience

Talent program
This position is a part of Hubbau’s talent program and is a collaboration between Hubbau and Volvo GTT. During the 12 months of the talent program, you will be employed by Hubbau and work as a consultant in your specific role at Volvo GTT. The ambition is for your employment to smoothly transition to a permanent position at Volvo GTT thereafter. The goal is to provide you with an even more rewarding first year that sets you up for success at Volvo GTT and in your future career. The talent program offers training sessions from specialists within Vinngroup to build up your knowledge base.
