Responsibilities:

Wells Fargo is seeking an Associate to join the Technology Finance division, an industry leader in delivering financing solutions to private equity-backed, founder-owned and publicly traded software/technology companies. The Associate will partner with a senior relationship manager, as a member of a dedicated deal team, managing a portfolio of middle-market client relationships and related financing solutions, which serve to address a variety of strategic and operating needs, including M&A and growth-oriented capital.

In this role, you will:

  • Assist with the execution of financing transactions, for financial sponsors and customers, including (i) completion of due diligence, (ii) financial modeling, (iii) credit analysis and, (iv) drafting and presenting credit memorandums
  • Engage (directly), and build relationships, with customers and their respective executive leadership and finance teams
  • Complete ongoing financial performance analyses, for portfolio, and present to senior leadership and risk management
  • Prepare and review enterprise and cash flow valuation analyses
  • Review legal diligence and assist in negotiation of credit/security-related and other, ancillary documentation
  • Aid in the development and execution of Technology Finance and company-wide strategic initiatives, via specialized project work and/or assignments
  • Execute on applicable risk programs and adhere to Wells Fargo policies and procedures
  • Participate in building and maintaining effective relationships with existing clients within their products or functional area, including sharing relevant information with coverage partners and senior peers
  • Review and analyze basic business, operational, or technical assignments or challenges that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives, and exercise independent judgment to guide medium risk deliverables
  • Participate or provide support to review and analyze low to moderately complex client portfolios for key issues related to cash flow, liquidity, leverage, working capital, debt coverage, collateral and enterprise value analysis, and repayment sources, including for use in periodic reviews as well as interim underwriting memoranda
  • Present recommendations for resolving low to moderately complex situations and exercise independent judgment while developing expertise in the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Partner with senior peers within the context of individual deals and client relationships to develop inquiries or identify gaps to support the understanding of clients’ businesses, strategic objectives, operational priorities, and financial positions to identify and execute on opportunities for modifications, renewals, and refinancing
  • Participate in regular portfolio reviews to manage risk and lead problem loan resolutions, where applicable
  • Partner with product management functional partners to provide feedback on the use of tools to deliver credit solutions more effectively, meeting client and market needs
  • Collaborate and consult with senior peers and functional partners to resolve client servicing requests and inquiries related to their product
  • Contribute to functional area planning related to a given product
