Assumption Life is seeking an Associate Vice President, Group Insurance to lead our Group Insurance Sales Department. The role will involve overseeing our sales teams, collaborating with our partners MGA/TPA/TPP, and ensuring the continued growth of our sales activities.
The AVP role offers flexibility in terms of location, with opportunities available across various regions in Canada. Candidates should be willing to travel for in-person meetings with partners and to develop strong relationships.
What you’ll do
Responsibilities
Provide guidance and support to sales managers in their respective territories to create sales strategies and objectives for each partner and territory to fulfill Assumption Life’s sales objectives.
Take part in the development of the strategic plan and orientations for the collective business line.
Establish a culture of achievement and success.
Ensure that sales teams, operations, and resources are managed, supervised, and coached to generate profitable growth.
Supervise budget utilization.
Define the ideal sales force structure.
Facilitate the negotiation, retention, and management of corporate insurance group files.
What you’ll need
Qualifications
A university degree or college diploma in administration or a related discipline.
Ten years of expertise in group insurance or a related field.
Have a thorough understanding of group insurance products.
Have extensive knowledge of group insurance distribution, including brokers and TPA/TPP, in Canada.
Acknowledging the impact of business decisions on the profitability of a line or company.
Capability to adapt to a demanding and competitive environment.
Capable of training/coaching business development managers and other sales personnel to achieve superior performance.
Capable of accurately anticipating future sales volumes.
