As a Associate DevOps Engineer, you will be expected to assist the Platforms team in driving the adoption and implementation of DevOps practices and processes within Class.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 1-2 years in DevOps or similar roles
• AWS expertise: Cloud Formation, CDK, EC2, ECS, EKS, RDS, S3, Lambda, Route 53
• Proficient in Bash, PowerShell, server admin (Windows/Linux)
• Familiar with Python/Java, Docker, troubleshooting, Agile/DevOps principles
• Experience with log aggregation, monitoring platforms
• Desire for system automation, improvement.

Desirable:

• AWS Certification
• Database (PostgreSQL) experience
• Familiarity with GitHub, Atlassian tools, Azure
• Basic networking knowledge (DNS, TLS, Apache, HTTP server)
• Problem-solving, collaborative, organizational skills
• Ability to adapt to new technologies

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drive improvements across shared infrastructure and cross-cutting concerns including CI/CD tools, configuration management, database management, AWS networking infrastructure, class backend systems, security, logging and monitoring, system performance, and cost engineering.
• Identify opportunities to simplify or automate systems and processes, and act on these where appropriate.
• Assist/guide and provide technical support to other teams in adopting DevOps based tools and processes.
• Identify and document non-functional system requirements and ensure they are met.
• Follow Class processes, standards, and conventions for software development.
• Communicate progress, issues, and risks to team members.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues.
• Deploy updates and fixes.
• Provide after hour support for releases, application upgrades and management whenever required.
• Active participation in brain storming sessions, technical discussions, and presentations.
