The Assistant Maintenance Manager contributes to the overall success of Coast Hotels by providing superior customer service and specialized services to the maintenance function of the hotel. Oversees the work of others within the maintenance department.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

  • Secondary School Diploma
  • Minimum of one trade qualification in electrical, plumbing, refrigeration or HVAC
  • Minimum one year Journeyman status in one or more trade qualifications
  • Pool Certification is an asset
  • Knowledge of all tools and equipment required to perform work
  • Ability to lead others
  • Advanced communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health & safety regulations and WHMIS
  • Physical mobility and stamina
  • Exemplifies Coast’s core values and enjoys working in a culture of accountability

Responsibilities:

  • General repair and maintenance of the hotel and project work as necessary
  • Communicates clear objectives, targets and operational quality standards for the team
  • Monitors the quality of work and provides feedback on the degree to which operational standards are met
  • Maintains health & safety standards at all times
  • Delegates work flow, motivates and provides guidance to team members while fostering an engaging and motivating work environment
  • Demonstrates a superior customer service attitude by anticipating guest needs and concerns, looking for opportunities to exceed expectations and removing barriers to delivering exceptional guest experiences
  • Other duties as required
