Stellar is proud to be partnering with Queensland Hydro, a publicly owned entity established by the Queensland Government to design, deliver, operate and maintain long duration pumped hydro energy storage assets that will be the cornerstone for the transformation of the state’s energy system.
The position will primarily focus on the Borumba Project, A Mega Pumped Hydro project which is set to be one of the largest and most innovative in the industry, aiming to provide clean, reliable energy for generations to come. We are looking for a dedicated Assurance Manager to ensure the highest standards of risk management, quality, safety, and efficiency throughout the project’s lifecycle.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Assurance Lead/Manager positions including deep knowledge of safety, compliance, risk management and audits, in a regulated industry/ environment.
  • Comprehensive exposure and knowledge of Queensland Government Project Assessment Framework (PAF) preferably on large infrastructural projects
  • Demonstrated experience in managing technical review panels or similar bodies.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to assurance, compliance, and risk management, with a track record of ensuring organisational adherence to these standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive assurance strategy in alignment with organisational goals and objectives, focusing on third-line defence assurance activities and external audits throughout the organisation.
  • Coordinate and oversee as directed third-line defence assurance activities to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Lead and coordinate the Project Gateway Review Team through internal gates and the Queensland Government Project Assessment Framework (PAF)
  • Quality Assurance: Develop, implement, and oversee quality assurance protocols to ensure project deliverables meet the highest standards of excellence.
  • Safety Management: Ensure all safety regulations and standards are met or exceeded, fostering a culture of safety across all project phases.
  • Compliance Oversight: Monitor compliance with local, national, and international regulations, including environmental and industry-specific standards.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity and success.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and report on project performance, using key metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with project stakeholders, including engineers, contractors, regulatory bodies, and community representatives, to ensure transparent and effective communication.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records and prepare detailed reports for senior management and regulatory authorities.
