Description:

THE OPPORTUNITY

To lead multiple engagements whilst providing support and encouragement to your team/s, reporting directly to the manager/director/Partner. The role offers the opportunity to coach and develop others, whilst working on your personal development and achieving your own career goals, working across multiple Financial Services engagements enhancing your technical knowledge and your social skills. SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS

To qualify for this role, you must have:

  • Professionally recognised chartered/certified accountant qualification (ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent international qualification)
  • Minimum of 8 years of external audit experience, with industry sector expertise
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in a team and collaborate effectively with others

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Experience with a Big 4 firm
  • Project and financial management skills
  • Team and leadership skills
  • Business development skills

Responsibilities:

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsibilities will be split across two areas; your clients and your people/teams:

CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Challenge the audit approach and translate the planned audit strategy into effective audit procedures, with the support of your team.
  • Take responsibility for the delivery and completion of the wider audit, in addition to allocated audit areas.
  • Deliver the assurance service for the set assignment both effectively and efficiently.
  • Gather and analyse new and prior year data, performing detailed audit testing in accordance with the agreed audit plan.
  • Review the work completed by more junior team members, for sign off by the manager/senior manager/partner.
  • Identify business development and sales opportunities with existing and new clients.
  • Generate new ideas to maximise assignment profitability.
  • Lead discussions on potential client and business issues, for example by using the firm’s knowledge resources.
  • Assess the impact of audit findings and discuss these with key client contacts.
  • Actively supports innovation, new ways of thinking, the development of new ideas and proactively seeks to utilise digital tools.

PEOPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be proactive about managing your own development, for example exploring secondment opportunities, discussing progression with your counsellor, researching new learning and development opportunities available.
  • Coach and guide associates, challenging them in line with their competency.
  • Maintain balance between personal and professional commitments and conscious of well-being of team members.
  • Build and maintain an effective working relationship with clients and their staff.
  • Seek out opportunities to expand and share your knowledge, internally and externally.
  • Commit to keeping your direct supervisor updated with progress reports and potential issues.
  • Continuously strive to seek feedback on your personal performance, both your strengths and areas for improvement.
