Description:

CeLeen, a Pequot Company, is seeking an experienced Assured Mission Data Availability (AMDA) Network Engineer to support a potential contract in Stuttgart, Germany. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing input and review of network designs, implementation, management and maintenance of the systems and networks that enable United States European Command (EUCOM) to communicate and operate effectively. Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of EUCOM’s AMDA network infrastructure, enabling seamless communication and collaboration across the enterprise.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Network Design: Support the planning and designing of network infrastructure, including hardware and software configurations, based on organizational requirements and industry best practices. This involves understanding the organization’s requirements, assessing existing systems, and proposing solutions for improvement or expansion.
  • Implementation and Configuration: Support the installation and configuration of network equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, cryptographic solutions and other networking devices. This also involves setting up network routing tables, configuration of network address and vlan assignments referencing the applicable IP pools, and other network configurations to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Network Security: Support the implementation of security measures to protect the organization’s network infrastructure from unauthorized access, cyber threats, malware, and other security risks. This includes strict adherence to DISA Security Implementation Guide (STIG)/Security Requirements Guide (SRG) requirements in addition to vendor/industry best practices in the configuration of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and other active network infrastructure equipment.
  • Network Analysis and Optimization: Analysis of network performance and development of remediation strategies to ensure smooth operation and minimal downtime. This may involve using network monitoring tools to track network traffic, analyze performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and optimize network resources for improved efficiency.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Develop design, installation, administration, and testing documentation for network designs. Additionally, perform review of existing network design documentation to assess best practice implementations and validate configurations and diagrams. Develop and/or review provided reports on network performance, security incidents, and recommended improvements for management review.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other IT professionals, such as NIWC and EUCOMs network administrators, network engineers, system administrators, system engineers, security analysts, and software developers, to ensure the smooth integration of the network infrastructure with legacy and new IT systems and applications located within the multi-site enterprise architecture. Effective communication skills are essential for collaborating with team members and conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay Updated with Technology Trends: Keep abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in network engineering. This includes attending training sessions, obtaining certifications, and participating in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge in networking technologies.
  • Knowledge of the below technologies is needed:
  • Software Defined Networking (Specifically Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure)
  • Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS)
  • Virtual Private Networks (VPN)
  • Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
  • Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP)
  • Open Shortest Path First (OSPF)
  • Intrusion Detection/Prevention System (IDPS)
  • Firewalls
  • Break & Inspect

This position is contingent on contract award

Work Environment:

  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to work in confined areas.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to sit, stand, talk, and hear.
  • Employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to operate a computer.

Travel:

  • 11-20% / Occasional travel.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
  • Security Certifications: (Any one of the below)
  • CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+)
  • CCNP-Security
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Expert proficiency level in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.
  • Candidate must undergo a TESA approval process to be considered for the job.
  • Professional proficiency in English is required.
