Description:

ATTENDANCE OFFICER

Competitive salary ranging up to £22,006 per annum/pro rata with Local Government Pension Scheme.
37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year (0.9 FTE).
Benefits to Support Work Life Balance: 30 days annual leave pro rata + bank holidays pro rata.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • We are looking to seek a highly motivated, organised and resilient individual, who has previous experience and is able to work in a fast-paced educational setting.
  • Good organisational skills with ability to organise own workload and able to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Good standard of computer literacy and have knowledge of Microsoft office packages.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to include; communication, adaptability and flexibility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum GCSE grade 4 / C in English & Maths or equivalent.
  • Level 2 Business Administration qualification or equivalent.

Responsibilities:

  • The role will require you to receive and process information regarding student absences by telephone and in person from students and parents/guardians and from the college absence line system, record absences ensuring all appropriate staff are notified.
  • You will also be required to monitor the attendance of our high-risk students who are on our Urgent Attendance Alert Register at key points during the day using our college systems, liaising with safeguarding team should a concern arise. Administer the absence process on a daily basis for our students under 18 and deal with any queries raised by parents/guardians relating to attendance.
  • Support teaching teams in pursuing persistent non-attendees, advising parents/guardians accordingly and referring to safeguarding/health & wellbeing staff where appropriate.
  • Administer the absence text process on a daily basis to ensure that parents/guardians of students aged under 18 are sent a text message to notify them of students’ absence/s.
