About the Office
The mission of the National Security Division (NSD) is to coordinate the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) efforts in carrying out its core mission of combating terrorism and protecting national security, including protecting our national assets from state-sponsored threats. NSD is responsible for supervising the enforcement of all federal criminal laws related to counterterrorism and counterespionage, except those specifically assigned to other divisions. NSD also serves as DOJ’s liaison to the United States Intelligence Community (USIC) and represents the government and the USIC before the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court. NSD advises the Attorney General regarding all matters of national security policy.

Job Description
The National Security Division (NSD) is seeking an experienced attorney to serve in the Office of the General Counsel (OGC), supporting the Office of Training and Workforce Development. The Office of Training and Workforce Development is central to the professional development and training of approximately 400 employees (including managers, attorneys, paralegals, administrative assistants, and other professionals). The Office of Training and Workforce Development develops and maintains an innovative and progressive training curriculum tied specifically to strategic priorities of the Division. The Office of Training and Workforce Development also coordinates and manages a number of NSD’s workforce and development projects. The attorney serving in this role will work under the general supervision of NSD’s General Counsel and the Director of Training and Workforce Development. Responsibilities and duties of this role include the following:
Supports the Office of Training and Workforce Development’s training events;
Develops and maintains effective relationships with professionals from other parts of the Department and outside organizations and groups concerned with the Division’s programs;
Supports the Office of Training and Workforce Development’s efforts to ensure that Division employees fulfill DOJ training requirements including annual mandatory professionalism, discovery, and ethics training;
Provides technical expertise to the Office of Training and Workforce Development regarding various training platforms;
Assists with the maintenance of the Division’s training records and reporting requirements with respect to required training;
Assists in the maintenance of the Division’s training website and resources;
Supports the evaluation of training received by Division employees, including distribution and collection of training evaluations and analysis of results;
Assists with the development of and facilitates NSD’s on-line training;
Serves as Administrative Liaison for OGC; to that end coordinates onboarding activities with the Division’s Human Resources staff, oversees approval of travel, time and attendance, and reimbursement for OGC employees, as well as carries out other administrative tasks; and
Provides legal advice and consults on issues identified by the General Counsel; to that end may draft, edit, and review legal documents or policies, as well as conduct legal research.

Qualifications
Qualifications
Applicants must possess a J.D. degree, be duly licensed and authorized to practice as an attorney under the laws of a State, Territory, or the District of Columbia, and have 1.5 or more years of post-J.D. professional experience to be qualified at the at the GS-13; 2.5 or more years of post-J.D. professional experience to be qualified at the GS-14; and 4 or more years of post-J.D. professional experience to be qualified at the GS-15 level.
Applicants with experience in training and workforce development initiatives are preferred. Applicants must also have superior academic credentials, writing and analytic skills. Applicants must also be able to qualify for the highest and most sensitive security clearances.

GS-13: $117,962 -$ 153,354 (per annum)
GS-14: $139,395 - $181,216 (per annum)
GS-15: $163,964 - $191,900 (per annum)
Travel
Periodic travel may be required.
Relocation Expenses
Relocation expenses are not authorized.
