Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Attorney will work with the litigation team in providing legal counsel to clients. The Attorney will be responsible for conducting legal research; drafting documents and pleadings; communicating with clients and experts; drafting and responding to discovery; and document review. In addition, the Attorney will handle depositions, hearings, and attend trials.

REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES:

  • 2 years of civil litigation experience preferred.
  • Florida Bar Admission
  • Judicial clerkship experience or demonstrate strong research, writing, and legal analysis skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess great time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with others.
  • Must meet expectations for billing goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Handle depositions, hearings, and attend trial.
  • Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel.
  • Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients.
  • Communicate with other attorneys, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently.
  • Maintain client files to ensure up-to-date information is available to other attorneys, paralegals and support staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
