The Automation and Controls Software Engineer is responsible for designing and developing software for installation in Aria Filtra products to meet or exceed On Time Delivery, Quality, Cost, and Productivity targets. The position involves designing, developing, testing, supporting, and troubleshooting software for Aria Filtra systems. Travel of up to 5% may be expected for specific projects requiring on-site presence.
This position is part of the Software Engineering Department and will be hybrid in London, ON.

In this role, you will:

• Develop software for new Aria Filtra projects including PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), HMI (Human Machine Interface) and SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) design, development, testing, and implementation.
• Design and approval of hardware, software, and controls for automated equipment.
• Provide remote field support on equipment testing (including factor acceptance test (FAT)) and equipment installation, start up, troubleshooting and on-going maintenance.
• Provide technical support, viable upgrade options and solutions to engineering during bidding phase, design phase, execution phase, and warranty phase to meet or exceed Quality, Cost and Productivity targets.
• Collaborate with Trojan Technologies with best practices and lessons learned, and explore innovative ideas, new technologies, and machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Are you qualified? The essential requirements of the job include:

• BS Electrical or Controls Engineering or equivalent degree with a minimum of 2 years of software and programming professional experience
• Or a minimum of 4 years of software and programming professional experience.
• Programming, operating, and troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLC’s, including ControlLogix and CompactLogix.
• Software design with Rockwell FTView Site Edition.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Wonderware and Ignition.
• Schneider Electric Modicon Control Expert.
