AUTOMATION ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Additional technical certifications preferred)
  • Has a minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting or equivalent.
  • Has excellent mechanical aptitude.
  • Has excellent working knowledge of mechanical/electrical principles.
  • Has excellent understanding of electrical troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in the use of electrical/mechanical diagnostic, testing, and measurement tools.
  • Has a great team focused attitude.
  • Is excited to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Is physically able to perform the duties of the job.
  • Is able to operate support equipment (i.e. Forklifts, Scissor Lifts)
  • Has strong communication skills.
  • Is willing to work a flexible schedule which may include weekends and holidays.
  • Experience with PLCs, VFDs, MSPs, and other Automation components.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel up to 50% of the time across all locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations during maintenance activities. Identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Technical Support: Serve as a liaison for the corporate engineering department and first level of technical support escalation across all locations.
  • Operational Technology: Design, implement and maintain OT systems (i.e., Data Collection, Automation, RFID Systems.)
  • Troubleshooting and Repairs: Utilize your technical expertise to troubleshoot and repair a variety of mechanical and electrical systems and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Operational Support: Work with other departments to ensure overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance technicians and relevant departments to coordinate maintenance activities, share knowledge, and provide technical support when needed.
  • Training and Mentoring: Provide guidance and training to junior technicians to enhance their technical skills and ensure the effective transfer of knowledge within the team.
