Responsibilities:

GET TO KNOW THIS ROLE

The Automation/Industrial Controls Engineer has overall responsibility for development, deployment, and support of process, utility, and packaging automation and control systems. This role supports overall throughput and productivity of the brewery and collaborates with customers and other support departments to optimize uptime as well as to proactively address risks posed by obsolescence. This position will receive direction from various brewery departments and Engineering colleagues as well as from direct management and the Director of Plant Operations and has the ability to assess situations, make recommendations, and prioritize work based on their best judgment, taking into account both technical requirements and business needs.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead the development, deployment, and support of process, utility, and packaging control systems, to include overall system functional development, hardware and software specification, programming, documentation, deployment, commissioning, and support, as well as general project management and selection & management of outside suppliers and service providers
  • Provide routine process and automation support to the Brewery to ensure all aspects of production are operating correctly, collaborating with other departments as needed
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance personnel on calibration, maintenance, and upgrade/replacement activities for equipment and instrumentation
  • Assist with software infrastructure implementation in support of various control systems
  • Provide guidance and training as appropriate to promote proper operation and maintenance of equipment, instruments, and control systems
