Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS & RELATED EXPERIENCE:

  • BSc in Mechatronics, Electronics, mechanical engineering or similar
  • Advanced Level PLC Programming is desirable.
  • At least 3/4 years’ experience with Automation and IT systems.
  • Working knowledge of Industrial Networks architectures (Ethernet IP, Control Net & Profibus)

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Automation/ Mechatronic Engineer required to support and extend our existing automation architecture within a rapidly expanding manufacturing environment. You will need to be quality focused, imaginative, capable of working on your own initiative and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Expand the existing automation environment to integrate with our automated material handling systems, introduce robotic control and RFID tracking into the manufacturing environment
  • Build smart systems by utilizing your mechanical, electronic and computer engineering skills.
  • Design and develop computer control systems for manufacturing.
  • Develop programming logic for manufacturing equipment
  • Study the viability and performance benefits of new mechatronic equipment
  • Present reports at internal technical meetings
  • Work with equipment vendors to improve our automation capabilities
  • Communicate technical concepts to co-workers, customers, and management clearly and concisely.
  • Collaborate with our automation partner to oversee the lifecycle of automation projects from inception to completion. This includes requirements analysis, specification, architecture, design, implementation, and testing.
  • Preparing & maintaining technical documentation
  • Working closely with Mechanical Design, Commissioning and Electrical Engineers.
  • Involvement in the full cycle of the machine control system specification and programming
