Description:

SUMMARY:

The primary function for this role is analyzing plans, bills of quantities, and other project documentation in order to estimate costs and schedule projects.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, mathematics, finance, accounting, statistics or a related field.

EXPERIENCE:

  • One to three years of experience estimating costs in a related industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
  • Advanced analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Expertise with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets and databases.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Working knowledge in MS Office with a strong grasp of Excel.
  • Become familiar with the various engineering software names that are used.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills with both internal and external customers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Customer relations experience within critical power i.e.) Telecomm, data center, financial, transportation, or healthcare environment. Our customers operate in mission-critical facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project documents and plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project.
  • Evaluate the factors of production that will influence the cost of the service or products.
  • Prepare material estimates and cost estimates for the product or service.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors.
  • Create cost analysis using bid data and present to management.
  • Track progress on various projects, identify potential delays, and work with stakeholders to ensure that the project stays within scope.
  • Evaluate the availability of resources and create/maintain schedules for various projects .
  • Work closely with the production and engineering team to assess the progress of the work orders and develop strategies to achieve targets.
