About the Role
The primary purpose of the Automation Test Analyst role is to design, implement and support automated testing for the efficient delivery of quality software to the business. This role will review requirements and the developing solution to identify, automate and execute test cases for regression and progression testing. It requires close collaboration with business and technology stakeholders in the delivery of quality test outcomes, leading to successful releases with minimal Production defects.
Key Duties
Testing Design and Build
Provide input to the high-level Test Strategy and Test Designs for System Integration and User Acceptance testing.
Review and understand business / system requirements and design.
Develop functional automation tests using test automation tools.
Ensure automation testing standards are met and use best practices that align wit project objectives.
Understand the scope of work in each sprint/release and direct automation testing efforts to the areas of most risk.
Automate functional and regression testing scenarios.
Work with business analysts and engineers to ensure test environments and test data are available when required.
Test Execution
Execute all levels of testing (system, integration, and regression).
Provide quality assurance signoff for each release, identifying testing coverage, gaps, and other potential risks.
Conduct manual testing when required.
Configure continuous integration jobs and related scripts for overall test scenario orchestration, scheduling, and reporting of automated test runs.
Triage, analyse, prioritise, and manage defects through the defect life cycle by liaising with business and IT teams.
Document and report test results.
Provide accurate and timely reporting of testing status and progress against schedule and test plans.
