AUTOMATION TEST ENGINEER

Are you ready for your next career challenge?
We are looking for a Automation Test Engineer/Software Developer in Test with strong technical test automation background for our Testing capability in Farnborough. The Automation Test Engineer will be working on supporting the BAU and Cloud projects to automate the functional testing for a wide range of changes and integrate into the DevOps pipeline, whilst at the same time, mentoring and guiding junior and new members of the team.
As a Automation Test Engineer in Leidos, you will be immersed in one of our key programmes – a large migration to cloud. On behalf of our central government customer, you will have direct impact on the current and future iterations of one of our most important pieces of critical national infrastructure.

What we need from you:

  • Experience leading test automation effort with hands-on automation experience on complex applications with multiple integrations
  • Experience of automated testing tools and frameworks such as REST Assured, Selenium, Robot Framework utilising Page object model, Junit and BDD and comfortable with setting up automation frameworks from scratch
  • Experience with Java or groovy programming
  • Strong demonstrable experience of testing API’s/Webservices and using API testing tools such as SoapUI or Postman
  • Strong experience with databases – comfortable querying multiple databases and tables using complex SQL queries
  • Comfortable with PowerShell scripting
  • Experience with using test stubs, mocking and simulator tools
  • Experience testing applications and systems with multiple integrations
  • Good knowledge or experience of cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure
  • Good knowledge and experience of DevOps tooling such as Bitbucket and Bamboo to integrate tests and schedule and run build jobs
  • Ability to lead, mentor and guide junior and new members of the team
  • Have excellent analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Candidate must be a UK National

Desired Skills:

  • Have general knowledge of Networking Technologies including load balancing and firewalls
  • Have general knowledge of Microsoft Stack
  • Experience with Agile, documentation and test management tooling such as Jira, Confluence and TestRail

Clearance: Candidate must be eligible to obtain SC clearance.
