Description:

Automotive Bookkeeper / Assistant Office Manager needed for a family-owned new car dealership just north of Boston. Dealership accounting experience is a requirement for this role. The successful candidate will be well-versed in automotive accounting and will be able to help the Controller with higher level accounting functions such as posting and breaking down deals and cleaning schedules. This person will be responsible to help oversee an accounting team of 3 people and help fill-in for any of the accounting team should they be out sick or on vacation. It is important that the Automotive Bookkeeper / Assistant Office Manager is a team player with a positive attitude. Experience on Reynolds and Reynolds is preferred. It is important that this person is tech savvy and has a working knowledge of excel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience as a bookkeeper or accountant, in the automotive industry.
  • Proficiency in Reynolds and Reynolds
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.
  • Knowledge of automotive dealership accounting practices

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivables, including processing invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Help maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries as needed.
  • Clean schedules
  • Help train new personnel
  • Assist throughout the accounting office as needed, filling in for others when they are sick or on vacation
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper documentation and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in accounting and finance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall operation of the dealership.
