Description:

Automotive Bookkeeper / Assistant Office Manager needed for a multi-store dealer group based in Bergen County, NJ. The successful candidate will be well-versed in automotive accounting and have CDK experience. The Automotive Assistant Office Manager will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of the dealer group’s accounting processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the success of the dealer group. This is a new position due to continued growth, and to help more evenly distribute the workload among the dealership accounting staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience as a bookkeeper or accountant, in the automotive industry.
  • Proficiency in CDK
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.
  • Knowledge of automotive dealership accounting practices

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivables, including processing invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries as needed.
  • Help prepare bank contracts
  • Clean schedules
  • Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements..
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper documentation and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in accounting and finance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall operation of the dealership.
  • Help train new personnel
  • Assist throughout the accounting office as needed, filling in for others when they are sick or on vacation
