We are currently looking for an Automotive Dealership Controller to join our Grand Toyota team. The successful candidate will be a key member of the accounting team and participate actively in both the financial and operational functions of the dealership.
Reporting directly to the Group Controller and working closely with the General Manager, the Automotive Dealership Controller will be responsible for directing and managing the dealerships accounting functions, including establishing practices and procedures as well as the preparation of financial statements, and providing reporting to management. The Automotive Dealership Controller also maintains the company’s accounting systems and implements changes as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Dept.
  • Responsible for the overall financial reporting, planning, budgeting, and accounting practices.
  • Provide superior customer service to all operating departments within the dealership (including Sales, Parts, and Service).
  • Create, maintain, and monitor internal controls.
  • Oversee or perform tasks to ensure financial functions are reconciled monthly including but not limited to cash, accounts receivables, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts payables, manufacturer statements, payroll administration, vehicle deal commissioning, intercompany accounts, benefit administration etc.
  • Produce accurate monthly financial statements.
  • Collaborate with vendors and department managers to implement cost saving and process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide financial analysis and input to Senior Management for forecasting purposes.
  • Coordinate the provision of information to auditors for annual reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with Provincial & Federal Government reporting requirements & tax filings.
  • Contribute to planning, forecasting trends, reviewing, and revising plans.
