Description:

Automotive Parts Manager opportunity available at a luxury dealership on the north shore of MA. It is important that the Parts Manager hired is someone who is a great trainer and motivator to their parts staff. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of running successful new car dealership parts departments and be great at implementing the proper policies and procedures to streamline processes. Likewise, the successful candidate is a Parts Manager who sees the big picture, sets long-term goals, and actively works to put a detailed plan in place to achieve those goals. Must be highly organized, process driven, and great at managing parts inventory. This is a hands-on position and the Parts Manager hired will be expected to lead by example and fill in wherever is needed in order to get the job done. It is important that the Parts Manager hired understands financials to ensure profitability. The Parts Manager will be expected to analyze costs, compare vendors, and make sound financial decisions in the best interest of the dealership and its Parts Department. Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision over all parts department operations; hires, trains, motivates, counsels, and monitors the performance of all department staff
  • Works with sales and service department managers to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs
  • Maintains a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the service department, wholesale accounts, and direct public
  • Monitors and adjusts inventory to minimize obsolescence
  • Prepares and administers an annual operating budget for the parts department
  • Process daily, weekly, and monthly reporting, including analysis of sales, expenses, and inventory to maintain profit goals
  • Monitors and verifies parts department employees’ payroll records and time logs
  • Supervises stock order procedures
  • Accurately price parts and accessories using the proper pricing source and keep the computer system up to date
  • Operates and oversees maintaining all departmental tools and equipment in good working order
  • Complies with and enforces all company safety policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Maintains a professional appearance and workspace at all times
  • Ensure that incoming inventory is stocked in the correct location
  • Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them
  • Coordinate and dispatch daily deliveries to wholesale customers near and far.
  • Utilized catalog/ordering systems offered by car manufacturers for wholesale customers to use.
  • Nurture and grow existing accounts by providing exceptional service
  • Work with counter and sales representatives daily to maximize growth opportunities at all accounts
  • Manages customer complaints or issues immediately and according to the dealership’s guidelines, with the highest level of professionalism
  • Understands and complies with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Other duties as required
