Description:

Experienced automotive Service Manager needed for a stable new-car dealership in the Metrowest. This is a great opportunity to take over a well-established department with a strong team in place and strong CSI. The current person is leaving on good terms as they needed to cut down their commute and took a position 10 minutes from their home. The successful candidate is a proven automotive Service Manager with a track record of positive leadership, green CSI, and taking care of customers. The dealership Service Manager will be responsible for overseeing the service department of the dealership, ensuring that all repairs and maintenance are completed efficiently and to the satisfaction of customers. Must be a great manager and leader to the techs and service writers. Experience on CDK is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the service department
  • Create and implement processes to increase efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability in the service department.
  • Set a clear vision for the Service Department to achieve targeted performance goals.
  • Hold daily and weekly meetings for the department, as well as 1:1s with individual team members.
  • Ensure the department has green CSI through building and maintaining relationships with customers and ensuring that they receive high-quality service.
  • Oversee the Service Advisors and ensure that ROs are written up and closed out in a timely manner.
  • Manage and supervise the service technicians, ensuring that all work is performed to the highest standards and within established timelines.
  • Provide training to service technicians to help them improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Recruit, interview and train service staff; handle performance reviews
  • Create an exceptional customer experience to drive customer loyalty
  • Develop and manage budgets and operating plans for the service department, monitoring performance and making adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge about the latest automotive technologies and stay current on industry trends.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the dealership to ensure seamless and efficient operations.
  • Monitor/control all warranty activity to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Ensure the Service area is customer-customer ready with proper displays and information
  • Other duties as required
