Description:

Automotive Service Manager needed for family-owned dealership just north of Boston, MA. This is a great opportunity to take over a growing department with a good team in place that is already outperforming last years’ numbers! The current manager is relocating for family reasons which is the only reason this position is available. The dealership Service Manager will be responsible for overseeing the service department of the dealership, ensuring that all repairs and maintenance are completed efficiently and to the satisfaction of customers. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading new car dealership Service Departments and ensuring that customer retention stays high. Moreover, the dealer is looking for an energetic Service Manager that actively strives to grow their department and do better than the day before. The successful candidate will be strong with technology and modern ways of doing business. It is important that this person is a good trainer and motivator of their team so that the team and department can reach new levels. Will report directly to the General Manager. Experience on Reynolds and Reynolds highly preferred. The Service Manager will have support from upper management to get their job done.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A proven track record as a dealership Service Manager / Service Director
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong understanding of the automotive repair and maintenance processes
  • Ability to analyze financial data and develop budget plans
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Reynolds and Reynolds

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the service team, including hiring, training, and supervising technicians and service advisors
  • Oversee the scheduling of repairs and maintenance with customers and technicians
  • Ensure ROs are completed and closed out in a timely and accurate fashion
  • Maintain inventory levels and order parts as needed
  • Ensure CSI remains strong
  • Handle customer service inquiries and address any concerns or complaints
  • Manage the budget for the service department and analyze financial data to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction within the service department
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices, and implement new technologies and processes as needed
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to repairs, maintenance, and customer interactions
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operation of the dealership
  • Other duties as assigned
